Equine Center

The Equine Center, on the U of A Agricultural Center, is home to a highly recognized Thoroughbred breeding herd. The Thoroughbred program has produced several of Arizona's top two and three-year-old race horses.

Each year students have the opportunity to work with yearlings to prepare, show and market them at the Annual Thoroughbred Breeder's Association sale.

Equine CenterThe farm also boasts a Quarter Horse herd used to teach students about today's cutting edge reproductive technology such as embryo transfer and semen preservation. Students get hands-on experience with the U of A horse herd in classes such as horsemanship, equitation workshop, weanling management and yearling management.

Students can also participate in work study positions at the Equine Center. Students interested in riding can join the Horseman's Association and the Intercollegiate Equestrian Team.
